Marca M. Doeff is a Sr. Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Vice Chair of the Battery Division and Fellow of the Electrochemical Society, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. She is a principal investigator working in multiple battery programs funded by the U. S. Department of Energy. She has authored or co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters and abstracts. In addition, she has been invited to present talks on her research at many international conferences including the Materials Research Society, American Chemical Society, Electrochemical Society, International Conference on Materials for Advanced Technologies (ICMAT, Singapore), Power Our Future (Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain) and the International Battery Association. Her current research interests concern materials for energy storage applications including Li-ion battery cathodes, solid electrolytes for lithium metal batteries, and cathodes, anodes, and electrolytes for sodium ion batteries. She received her B.A. in Chemistry from Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, PA in 1978, and her Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Brown University in Providence, RI in 1983, where she worked with Professor Dwight Sweigart.
