Professor Yan Wang, WPI

Prof. Yan Wang is William Smith Foundation Dean’s Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). His research is in the field of fundamental electrochemistry and electrochemistry-based technologies including electrolysis, lithium ion batteries, solid electrolyte, battery recycling, etc. He has been working on lithium ion battery recycling for the last 7 years, which has led to several papers and patents. He co-founded Battery Resourcers, Inc. in 2015 to commercialize the lithium ion battery recycling technology developed in his lab.
